Gifted & Talented Program

The mission of Monrovia Unified School District's Gifted and Talented Education Program is to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences and opportunities for growth that enable children with high potential, talent, and exceptional capacity to develop to their potential.

GATE enrichment programs vary from school to school, but all elementary schools have clusters of GATE and high potential students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms.  In middle school and high school, GATE and high potential students may enroll in Honors and Advanced Placement classes.  GATE students in regular classrooms receive differentiated instruction in GATE clusters.

Each site develops their own unique enrichment opportunities for their GATE students.  Students are engaged in virtual field trips, field trips to museums, inventor's fairs, and many schools participate annually in the Science Olympiad, and AstroCamp for 5th Grade GATE students.  Please contact your student's school principal for more information about their GATE program, as well as ways you can be involved.

Should you have any questions, please contact your student's school principal or 626-471-2031.
