Common Core State Standards

Welcome to the Common Core State Standards portal!  In 2010 California joined with 45 states and adopted the same standards for both English and math. These standards are known as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Having the same standards enables all students to get a good education, even if they change schools or move to a different state. Teachers, parents, and education experts designed the CCSS to prepare students for success in college and the workplace.

MUSD schools will be introducing the new Common Core State Standards gradually beginning with Kindergarten and 1st Grade and ending with full implementation anticipated by the 2014-15 academic year.  Specific details on the new Common Core State Standards will be posted on this web page as they become available.
