Transfers 2025 - 2026

Welcome to Monrovia Unified School District's Intra-District and Inter-District Transfer Information page!

Intra-District Permit (MUSD School to School Transfer Request) 2025 - 2026

Intra-District enrollment is for families who reside within the boundaries of our district and are interested in having their child attend another school within Monrovia Unified during the 2025 - 2026 school year. We invite you to explore the Intra-District transfer process (see our MUSD Board Policy 5116.1). Intra-District transfers are subject to available space at the requested school and specific grade level, with parents assuming responsibility for transportation.

Incoming Transfer Permit Request (Non-MUSD Transfer Request) 2025 - 2026

The Inter-district application is for families who do not reside in Monrovia Unified School District and would like to enroll in MUSD. Per E.C. 46601, requests submitted for enrollment in the 2025 - 2026 school year up to 30 calendar days before the first day of school (August 13, 2025) will receive a decision within 14 calendar days. For requests submitted after school starts, a decision will be shared within 30 calendar days of submitting the request.

*Requirement: For students who are seeking to enter or renew their Inter-District Transfer Permit, Monrovia Unified REQUIRES record of Academics, Attendance, & All Behavior, including suspension, expulsion, or revocation of permit from prior district(s). Parents and students are required to adhere to all MUSD policies. Permits may be revoked at any time for non-compliance with terms and conditions. Please add the following attachments when you are completing your application: (1) Current school year attendance record, (2) Discipline/Behavior record, and (3) Current Grade Report Card.
*Note - Approval decisions are influenced by three (3) Enrollment Conditions:
1) positive Attendance (minimum 95%),
2) positive behavior (no 48900 violations), and
3) positive grades (minimum 2.0 GPA).
As stated above, a permit for Inter-District attendance is valid only while the above "Enrollment Conditions" on the permit are maintained, and the permit may be revoked by the granting district for failure to comply with conditions (attendance, behavior, grades). Permits may be issued to allow transfer to another district for a limited time
