Communications and Public Information
Monrovia Unified School District is committed to updating our community with the latest news regarding our schools, students, and staff. Our goal is to support schools with internal/external messaging, crisis communication, community outreach, and anything else that falls under the communications umbrella.
The Communications Department operates under the guidance of the Superintendent and is led by Public Information Officer Susan Thomas to make sure everything is communicated directly and effectively. Please email [email protected] for any news stories, tips, or questions. Parents and community members are also encouraged to send photos or potential story ideas to that email to showcase our students and staff.
MUSD includes alt text on all images for the blind and those with low vision. We include captions on all videos for the deaf and hard of hearing. By April of 2027, all videos will also include a link to an audio-described version of the video that includes a voice-over describing the images. We support the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines per the Department of Justice and are pleased to meet the 2.1 AA standards. We also apply these standards to all of our digital communications on social media and in our newsletters.
