The Board of Education established the Supplemental Employee Retirement Program on December 17th, with a cap, limiting the number of participants to 20. Subsequently, at the most recent board meeting on March 25, the resolution was amended to remove the cap to allow a few additional employees who had requested participation.
At this time, approximately 23 employees are planning to participate. It allows them to receive a partial salary prior to the typical retirement age. Employees must be at least 55 years of age with at least five (5) years of aggregate service with the District by June 30, 2026, and the employee must be eligible to retire from CalSTRS/CalPERS.
This initiative supports our district's Fiscal Stabilization Plan by allowing us to continue to right-size our staffing in response to declining enrollment.
