The Board wishes to inform MUSD families and the community of its decision to appoint Flint Fertig as Interim Superintendent of Monrovia Schools. The appointment takes effect immediately. Mr. Fertig will leave his current post as Director of Adult Education and Alternative Programs to assume his new role. In the meantime, the Board will consider the next steps in the selection and appointment of a permanent person to the position of Superintendent of Monrovia Schools.
The Board is thankful for Dr. Smith’s service and wishes him well in his future endeavors. The Monrovia Unified Governing Board will continue to support all staff in their efforts to provide the best education and care for our students.
