Lupe Davis: A 22-Year Legacy of Dedication to MUSD

In the heart of Monrovia, there exists a remarkable story of dedication and service that has spanned over two decades—a story embodied by Lupe Davis, a true pillar of the Monrovia community. Hailing from Pasadena, California, Lupe's journey led her to Monrovia, where she not only graduated from Monrovia High School but also became an integral part of the Monrovia Unified School District (MUSD).

Raising her two children alongside her husband Ed in Monrovia, Lupe's commitment to community involvement was unwavering. She proudly supported local initiatives and became deeply engaged with the Monrovia Unified School District. Recognizing her passion and dedication, Lupe was appointed to the Personnel Commission in 2001 by the Board of Education—a role she held for an impressive 22 years.

As a key figure in the Personnel Commission, Lupe Davis played a pivotal role in shaping the district's workforce. Her tireless efforts ensured a legacy of excellence and a steadfast commitment to education. Over the years, Lupe's leadership, professionalism, and ability to ask the right questions set a standard for the commission's operations, keeping them on task and on track.

Jeanne Tyler, Chairperson, who served alongside Lupe for the entire 22-year journey, expressed, "In the 22 years we have served together, her professionalism and dedication to supporting the classified staff of MUSD has been exemplary. Lupe’s strong leadership skills, coupled with her ability to ask the right questions, always meant we could stay on task and track. I wish her well in all of her new adventures and want to say that the Personnel Commission is truly losing a gem."

Norberto Moraga, Vice-Chairperson, echoed these sentiments, saying, "You will definitely be missed! Truly enjoyed working with you on the MUSD Personnel Commission. Thank you for everything you have done for Monrovia Schools and Classified Employees. Congratulations on your retirement."
