Benefits

Medical & Dental Insurance
As a Monrovia Unified School District employee, you can choose from comprehensive PPO & HMO medical and dental benefits to provide coverage for you and your eligible dependents.

Vision Insurance
As a Monrovia Unified School District employee, you and your eligible dependents are provided with a vision care plan. Some of our Medical plans provide Vision Insurance at no additional charge.

Vacation
During the first year, classified employees are eligible to accrue between 9 and 12 days of vacation time. After five years of service each employee is eligible to accrue additional vacation time depending on years of service.

Sick Days
Classified and certificated employees are eligible to accrue between 9 and 12 days of sick time which includes personal necessity days. Personal necessity days can be used during critical times when using sick days or vacation days may not be appropriate.

Holidays
Regular full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay, including the following holidays; New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, President's Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day & the day after, and Christmas Day.

Retirement Programs
School District Employees are eligible for either PERS or STRS, the state retirement program.

403(b)
As a Monrovia Unified School District employee, you are eligible to participate in our Fidelity Investments 403(b) and receive tax benefits while saving additional money for your future retirement.

Section 125 Flexible Spending Account
As a Monrovia Unified School District employee, you can contribute to tax-free reimbursement accounts to pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses.
