Over the years, proud students at MHS have established customs and traditions that have carried our schoool to its present high degree of respect among other high schools of the area. It is our reponsibility to learn and carry on these fine customs and traditions so that our high school may continue to merit the respect it has so well earned. |

| Junior / Senior Prom | Homecoming | Senior Breakfast | ||
| The Junior-Senior Prom is our main formal dance. It is for Juniors and Seniors only, unless you are an underclassman invited by a Junior or a Senior. The prom is put on by the Juniors for the Seniors. | Homecoming is celebrated ont he day of one of our home football games. This is a chance for alumni to come back to visit Monrovia again. They enjoy themselves while attending various activities, including a pre-game parade where class princesses and princes and club sweethearts are introduced. A homecoming queen and king are chosen and announced a the halftime show. The dance is then held at an off-campus site the next night. | This is held the last week seniors are in school. There are speakers and awards given out. | ||
| Winter Homecoming | Spirit Week | Club Competition | ||
| Winter homecoming is celebrated on the day of one of our home basketball games. At halftime, ASB puts on the coronation ofthe king and queen, chose from the Senoir court. The next night, there is a dance held at an off-campus site. | Spirit Week, also known as Club Rush Week, takes palce within the first few weeks of school. All the clubs set up tables in the friendship circle, and all students are encouraged to sign up for clubs they are interested in. | Club Competition is a competition between clubs to earn points towad the Club of the Year Award. This honor is earned by competing in ASB-sponsored and other approved projects. | ||
| Wildcat Mosaic | The big M | Bell Tower | ||
| In the foyer of the Main Building lies the Wildcat Mosaic, depicting the symbol of our school. The mosaic is strictly off limits; students are asked not to walk on it. | Located on the hills just above the school is our "Big M." It is made of cement and is lighted at night. After each victorious game, only part of the "M" is lighted, leaving a "V" for victory. | The high school tower is lighted every night, adding a distinctive brightness to the school. | ||
| Victory Bell | Campus Beautification | Class Comptetition | ||
| The Victory Bell was given to the school by the News-Post and is traditionally rung by Willie and Wilma Wildcat at our victorious home football games. | Around the campus, you will notice beautification projects. These are sponsored by the different clubs on campus, typically for Earth Day. | The Class Competition takes place between the 4 classes to earn points toward the Class of the Year Award. The winning class receives a reward day at the end of the year. This award is earned though participation in ASB-sponsored events, such as dress days and class competition games during assemblies and at lunch. | ||
