{MHS Logo} Monrovia High School Athletics provides students with an extra-curricular opportunity to develop themselves and to enrich their high school experience. At this level, the orientation is necessarily educational; sportsmanship, respect and fair play are emphasized, as are the development of skills and team understanding necessary for competition at the varsity level. At their best, MHS Athletics contribute significantly to the development of a well-rounded, spirited, healthy individual.

Eligibility
{07 Monrovia celebrating last year} Student-athletes are deemed academically eligible for their respective seasons if they attain a 2.0 or better GPA, with no more than one "F," for the grading period immediately preceding the start of the season. (For Fall Sports, the term-ending grades in June apply; for Winter, th quarter grades in November apply; and for Spring term-ending grades in January.)
If a student-athlete has lower than a 2.0 with no more than one, "F," he/she is deemed "probationary." This gives him/her eligibility for five weeks from the beginning of the grading periods until progress grade date, at which time he/she must show a 2.0 or better to remain eligible and continue competing.
A student-athlete is academically ineligible if, for the qualifying grade period, he/she has two or more "F's" or does not have a 2.0 or better after a five week probation. (A grade of Incomplete ("I") is considered an "F" until it has been made up and changed to different grade in the school's computer records.)
