Dear Monrovia Families,
Hello and welcome to the Village Webpage and thank you for your interest in the Village Extended School Program.
Our before and after school programs service a total of 600 students at Bradoaks, Clifton, Monroe, Plymouth, Santa Fe, and Wildrose. We are committed to providing educational programs which foster the maximum development of each student’s:
· desire to learn,
· academic potential
· vocational interests and talents
· social, civic, and cultural understanding
· and sense of self-worth
The Village Program is designed to support not supplant the learning opportunities that occur during your child’s regular school day. Our educational and literacy components include tutoring and homework assistance in core subject areas such as language arts and math. Our educational enrichment activities are designed to be content-rich and aligned with state and local content standards. We also provide students with a nutritious snack that meets the guidelines outlined in Education Code 49430.
The Village Extended School Program is funded through an ASES (After School Education and Safety) Grant which has very specific attendance requirements of 3 hours a day, 5 days per week for elementary school students and 3 hours a day, 3 days per week for middle school students. These attendance requirements are an essential component to the Village Extended School Program.
Through experience we know that students benefit most from their after school experience when they participate regularly, engage in authentic learning activities, and build positive relationships with other students and staff members.
We strive to be a “home away from home” for your child after their regular school day. Thank you again for your interest in the Village Extended School Program! For more information be sure to view our other pages! If you have any questions please call us at 626-471-2797.
